Incredible fires. Well over a thousand believe to have perished.

Fires hot enough to melt metal, alert system down, cellphone network not working at the time. Bodies can not be recognised without dna. Bodies can not be found without cadaver dogs.

WTF is going on there?

I think, but cannot be sure when the cripple-fucker is spouting his bollocks, that he is trying a put-down on my chosen place of dwell, being, as it is, reasonably close to Bazalgette's Southern Outfall Sewer pumping station in Deptford - a clone of the Northern Outfall Sewer complex at Abbey Mills, part of which they've cleverly renamed the Greenway in an attempt to convince the simpletons among us that the path to the Olympic Stadium many use on match-days is not full of shit.

Seems that the ruse has worked.

These sewers were constructed in direct response to the "Great Stink" of 1858, an event that the site's resident expert on ladyboys seems intent on recreating using only the content of his posts.

Joyo

Fuck me you referring to that sewage plant around the Belvedere area has brought on more shivers than Arelsey Pit
I had commercial dealings with the operator there, not pleasant

And only on WHO could a thread digress from a Hawaiian fire tragedy through politics, nut houses and on to the proceeds of shit houses

Arlesey Nut House

Having been an avid night fisherman since a kid, noises at night never bothered me, then years back I fished Arlesey Pit

This has a special place in angling history given it provoked the design of a new lead weight to over come the dramatic incline of the banks of what was a small clay pit recessed in a sudden hollow

Accessing it was via an abandoned nut house and then through a wood

The water was crystal clear, tinged blue and the surroundings at best shaded. As the sun set a palpably eerie atmosphere descended as mist rose off the water

That was a long night made longer when a local recounted that many a loon back in Victorian times had flung themselves in to their death and caused it's subsequent haunting

Weird place and a second larger lake over the back, the scene of a more recent tragedy when a pissed idiot drove his family into it and their death

Re: Lahaine, Mauie - Hawaii
Shenley was my most local nut house when I moved to Radlett; had a blinding staff social club to which "guests" were often invited. Nothing like a formal invite though, just as long as you knew the barman's (who was as likely to be a hospital patient as a staff member) name you were let through the door.

Nitrous on tap along with an ever changing plethora of real ales and spirits of dubious duty-paid status.

Not that it would matter to you lot.

Ours was Ponoka, or the Alberta Hospital for the Insane or later just the undersold Alberta Hospital.

Had friends work there when they were teenagers.

It wasn't a threat it was just something you would say if someone was talking rubbish, "Ponoka talk".

Bedlam was the generic one.

Locals hate tourists everywhere, especially if they are rich and they have to run around serving and cleaning after them.

I can;t see anyone being to happy watching people carrying on their holiday when your friends and relatives have been burned alive 20 minutes down the road.

Soldo

I read that fondly awaiting Barley Lane, a reference long forgotten until you brought it up years back

Our mum, bless her, used that when we were playing up as snotty kids, telling us that we would send her there

Every time I read that I can hear her saying it
Thanks for the memory

Re: Lahaine, Mauie - Hawaii
According to a BBC article Nuts is correct - the locals are indeed 'raised to hate visitors'

Interestingly they are kicking off that they are still arriving in the unaffected areas

Strange attitude to have when prior to the fires 4 out of 5 USD in their economy were directly attributed to visitors - after the infrastructure damage they will need them even more yet complaints are exacerbated

Akin to the plebs in parts of Spain who complain about UK tourists without whom they would be trotting about on knackered donkeys collecting a fig or two

Oh well Septics, you know what to do, vote with your dollar and fuck 'em off

Nice to see Northern Sold and Joyo, two of WHO’s biggest retards following me around.

It pleases me no end to know how much I have gotten under your skin.

Gph and Darlo Abbott too. Some real winners in this group of salty fuckwits. Not an ounce is sense in any of them.

Funny to think Gph is still following me around after all this time. I must have really done a number on him. Ag ag ag ag!
